OSRS dragon axe is both a weapon (60 Attack required to wield) and a Woodcutting tool (61 Woodcutting required to use). With level 60 Attack, you can use the special attack to woodcut with the axe starting at level 58.

Compared with the rune axe OSRS, dragon axe is 10% more efficient at chopping logs. The dragon axe’s success rate for chopping a log is around 375% that of the bronze axe, or 7.1% better than the rune axe.

Special attack of OSRS dragon axe

The dragon axe has a special attack called Lumber Up, which can provide a visible +3 boost to Woodcutting. The special attack consumes 100% of your special attack energy, though it cannot be used without the 60 Attack required to wield the axe. Using the special attack every 5 minutes will increase experience rates by about 1%.
